Driven by her passion for holistic wellness and physical fitness as well as her life mission to be a healthful influence on her community, Robyn decided to pursue a career as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and enrolled in the RMT Program at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT), where she graduated with honors.

Using a variety of techniques, Robyn strives to deliver treatments which are effective, soothing, and educational. She understands that massage is a subjective experience and thus prioritizes understanding her client’s preferences so she can deliver the most effective treatment possible.

When she isn’t massaging, Robyn can be found making condiments from scratch, playing beach volleyball, and road tripping.

Robyn is thrilled to be working in the Sunrise neighborhood and looks forward to meeting you soon.

I love my work as a massage therapist. I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2001, and have continued to explore numerous modalities of manual therapy, movement, biomechanics, yoga and meditation. In my 20+ years of practice, curiosity and a love of learning has been a primary motivator. My approach to treatment integrates fascia based therapies: Myofascial release, Cranio-sacral therapy, and Visceral Manipulation. I use traditional massage therapy techniques such as trigger point release, joint mobilizations, lymphatic/circulatory work and deep tissue therapy when indicated. The body is always seeking balance as a multi-layered, interconnected whole; my role is to facilitate its innate and inherent self-correcting ability. Drawing upon my understanding of yoga, meditation, Pilates and therapeutic movement, my aim is to encourage clients towards an embodied awareness. My practice is inclusive; adults, youth and children are welcome. Women’s health and supporting families during pregnancy, birth and postpartum is an area I have many years of experience. A unique time of change; physical, emotional, relational and social. Providing support during this time is very rewarding; not only are children born, so too are mothers, fathers and families. It is my intention to provide compassionate care. Through my experiences as a birth doula and mother myself, I understand how a woman well-supported and nurtured during pregnancy and birth can transition into motherhood feeling empowered, relaxed and trusting herself. Growing, birthing and caring for an infant is physically demanding. Manual therapy effectively addresses many of the physical issues that arise and is an excellent way to practice self-care - something all caregivers need. Outside my work life, I love adventuring; be it with my family and our pup, exploring mind and body with yoga and meditation, and enjoying the terrain of the West Coast. I look forward to working with you.

My treatments are often slow, strong and sporty, and your massage will be tailored to your current needs and mood. It can range from a focused, dynamic session with informative dialogue to a soothing reset for your nervous system. I integrate a variety of modalities including deep tissue and Swedish massage therapy, trigger point therapy, passive and active stretching, myofascial release therapy, dynamic release, breathwork and body awareness cues, as well as joint mobilizations into fundamentally relaxing treatments.

My approach to massage is positively client-centered. I strive to create a safe, collaborative treatment space where you can reconnect with yourself: your involvement in some techniques encourages you to uncover, question, and challenge your functional or psychological limitations.

Outside of the treatment room, I like to read, get eight hours of sleep, write postcards, and eat pastries from Livia. I love to move: yoga brings me community, breath and space; hiking supports my perseverance, my wide-eyed wonder, and a responsible relationship to both safety and risk; and decades of soccer have developed in me a sweet sense of teamwork, the hunger for success, and the patience and curiosity bound in injury and recovery. Every day, I endeavor to strengthen my relationship with rest.

I am a Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. I graduated from the 3,000-hour massage therapy program at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy where my academic distinction was recognized with the Dean’s list honours. I was awarded with the college’s Heart Award for my integrity, compassion, and dedication to the profession’s community.

Hi I’m Kate!

I really love massage therapy and I have been a RMT for over 6 years. I strongly believe that massage therapy is a very important tool for physical and mental health. My treatments are calm, gentle, thorough and movement-based.

Lately I’ve been using a lot of pin and stretch techniques (active and passive), swedish massage, joint distraction techniques and hydrotherapy. Be prepared to do simple movements during the treatment.

Calmino is on the street level, and it is wheelchair accessible. My treatments are LGBTQ+ friendly and every race, size and age are welcome. Sensory issue concerns can be discussed and can usually be accommodated. I would like massage therapy to be accessible to everyone, and so discussing a sliding scale payment is an option for those that need it.

Please note:

60 minute appointments can include massage therapy for 1-3 areas. Full body treatments can not be done in 60 minutes.

90 minute appointments can be full body treatments. This can include front and back of the arms and legs, glutes/hips, hands, feet, pects, shoulders, neck and scalp. Optional: abdominal massage. 90 minute appointments are only available after the initial 60 minute appointment. 90 minute appointments are not available on the online booking system but I am happy to book a 90 minute appointment for you after your first 60 minute appointment.

About me:

Lately my hobbies have been dance classes, meditation, nature trips, camping, crafting/art, reading and exercise.

Before I became a RMT, I was a backpacker travelling/working in Australia and New Zealand for many years. After my trip, I moved back to Canada and I worked some seasonal jobs. I was a ski-lift operator, snowmaker and fishing lodge/campground worker. Travelling is a major passion of mine, and I love thinking about fun places to go and meeting new people.

You can contact me with questions/comments at rmt.katemc@gmail.com and on Instagram at @rmt.vancouver .
